I feel like I should explain my reasoning. Typing takes way too long. This post for example I could finish voicing my reasons in like 15 seconds compared to the 2 minutes it took me to make this post. And when your in a conversation, making the other person wait for you to send your message isn't efficient. I also find it easier to explain in person especially when explaining conflict or something negative. And people tend to be more attentive when you call them as they have to be actively listening compared to text where people skim/misread commonly. Text causes miscommunication as tone cannot be detected, aswell as typos and other mishaps. That's why I think calling is better and more likely than not will ignore a text until I have time to call the person or meet them irl. But it doesn't matter what you guys do as I personally just like calling more.
