just googly eyes or googly eyes on something?

googly eyes on something :)) like in everything everywhere all at once

YOURE SO REAL FOR THAT

you should probably run before i start going on a ramble on how good and realistic it was /j

contrarily, you have my full attention

LETS GOOOOO (spoilers in advance, of course)

qualifications:

  • closeted queer asian daughter

  • understands & speaks all the languages in the film

  • parents are even more homophobic than in the film

a lot of the mannerisms, and even the language and general emotional environment is super real

it might sound to people who haven’t grown up like that super harsh and mean, but we were literally raised with people telling us they wished we had never been born and they would rather have birthed a piece of barbeque pork instead of us, and their way of saying “i love you” is making you food and paying for things and giving you backhanded-insulting health advice like “you’re getting fat. eat this and you’ll lose weight” or “let me cut your hair, you look homeless right now” etc.

its very isolating and all the actors were so real :,)

a lot of people dont get a happy ending out of the same situation, and i feel like thats the reason it resonates & feels bittersweet with a lot of people

personally i bawled like a child, i dont think ill ever really have the familial situation that they do at the end, and i feel kind of both fulfilled and jealous

also a good love story really sells it, evelyn & waymond and joy & becky were both so cute together like 🥹

I love that this film means so much to you :)

I gotta watch it again. I only saw it once in theaters a little over a year ago.

I teared up at “In Another Life.” Beautiful film
