It's funny how often I need to relearn about the importance of back ups. I was fortunate enough to not lose anything big or important this time, but some of my files are likely lost forever. Please make back ups. Even healthy devices can die unexpectedly.

I try to take backups but time machine is so irritating
this reminds me of when i was panicking because my antivirus flagged something
it was a false flag and i spent 2 hours trying to resolve the issue until i ran a scan using like 4 other antivirus tools and realized
if it was a real flag… i would’ve been screwed.
i’m used to downloading apks and other things on chromeos, since it seems to be less targeted in the malware community (if that’s a thing?), and when i switched to windows it was a shocking reality to find out that most shady software could be malware
