do you guys say “twenty twenty three” or “two thousand twenty three”
i was taught at english class wayy back to say twenty twenty three, but i say two thousand twenty three, and im spanish if you’re wondering
i say “twenty twenty three” (it’s less syllables in English)
Twenty twenty three, that’s what I hear more - also a thing in German, but people say “zweitausenddreiundzwanzig” (two thousand twenty three) much more than “zwanzig-dreiundzwanzig” (twenty twenty three)
interesting!
it seems like in German, “twenty twenty three” actually has more syllables (takes longer to say) than “two thousand twenty three”. that would probably explain why people prefer it.
Twenty twenty three has slightly fewer syllables:
zwan zig drei und zwan zig (twenty twenty three)
zwei tau send drei und zwan zig (two thousand twenty three)
ah okay then i have no idea why
