you need to install one i think

i use mixplorer it has a ton of built in file viewers and is better than default files

oh sad that android is too silly to provide a default audio player

my os would provide a default audio player

I can use the files app the open them, seems you uninstalled it

which “the files app” exactly? the only files app ive ever had (pre)installed on my A20e was the “My Files” with a white folder on a yellow-orange-ish background, which is very much still installed.

okay then you broke something because on my old Samsung tablet I can use it to listen to sounds

as in use the file explorer to 1) open some other sound player app or 2) listen to it in the file explorer itself

if its 1) which sound player app

if its 2) thats a weird design choice imo

listen to it in the file explorer. i don’t think it’s a bad choice because it prevents from adding ever more unneeded apps (bloat)

can you also watch mp4s in your file explorer or is it just inconsistent with itself? also which explorer in which OEM and version?

yes I can, I’m using files by google (latest) but the samsung one should work with mp4s as well

i don't think android has a stock file manager

I can use the files app on my phone*

this reminds me of the meme where the guy has a bunch of entirely unrelated apps to open a file

Mine just doesn’t have one either, had to install one
