as an outsider to us politics, why do both of the main parties barely talk about the working class and always try and pander to the “middle class”
well, no.. the source i’m looking at shows 46% of americans self-identify as working class, 52% as middle or upper-middle class and 2% as upper class. there's no overlap there?
That’s probably because of the different meanings of working class. I meant working class as in “people who are employed in manual or industrial work”.
the working class is simply anybody working who doesn't have a significant personal stake in the ruling class, and the working class needs to unite against the ruling class

the ruling class is anybody at the top of the capitalistic hierarchy; ie the people who have all the control over everything such as the rich
