This website doesn’t matter. Whichever other websites you may use probably don’t matter either. If you could step away from something for a month without any repercussions in your real life, it’s best to exercise that ability once in a while to remind yourself of what’s really important.
You think a lot about wasteof. Why? What good does it do you? Why seek attention in this small, scattered community of people you don’t know? And when you’re awarded that attention, does it even make you happy?
I advise you take a month off. From here and as much of the internet as you possibly can (perhaps all of it). Go spend time with people you really know, the ones who make a positive difference in your life.

ja this and also if someone makes a mean comment, remind them that it literally costs $0 to just scroll away if theyre not a fan - works even better on media like instagram whose algorithm relies on engagement, like comments, but on wasteof the same still applies! i literally ignore 90% of the content on my feeds on all social media, it is never so serious

(from re-reading this comment, if the post looked like I was complaining I don't get any attention when posting, then no it's not that - it's more that the site imposes so many invisible restrictions you can't do anything without it causing some drama, or people complaining about the “good old days” in unnecessarily wordy posts)

But if no one likes what I’m saying, then why am I saying it in the first place? In the end humans are just desperate for attention so if nobody cares (and it’s not like I make very “real” posts considering how much I think about it - most “real” things I say on my wall) then why even use the site in the first place? I’m only here to spend the time I have after all, if I can’t do it in a way I want because there’s so many user made restrictions to what I (seemingly) can do, then why would I use the site? If nobody cares about what I say, why would I still continue? Am I imagining that wo.m puts pressure into “high quality” posts and disregards all “low quality” as bad even if it’s got meaning?
well for one I like ur posts but i get wut u mean, and I sometimes feel that there a bit of a perfectionistic culture here but u can always challenge the “rules” ppl make (within reason ofc), u dont have to abide to them if u dont feel like it. why use the site, bcus ppl appreciate ur posts lol
If people make “rules” and then everyone agrees with them (search for literally any post complaining about the “good old days” that went viral on here) then you don’t abide by them, what happens? People stop caring about what you want to say, why even bother? Last time something like this happened that I remember was me, @/zagle, @/theycallhermax and maybe @/donotforgetmycode making “too many” “low quality” posts that were “spam” and everyone getting mad that their little site wasn’t perfect enough as it was in the “good old days”

I’ve actually deleted so many of my old posts because I felt like the didn’t meet the “high quality” standard enforced by many users
If you think you need to post high quality things, please take a look at what I post. 95% of the things I post are just random thoughts that pop into my head.
I don’t think I should but people make it seem necessary that everything meets a “quality standard” and this paired with the constant looming threat of causing a kerfuffle is very stressful

That's a different type of low quality. The low quality stuff I was talking about is things that fir, zagle, etc. posted several months ago. I just post random things.
