US Elections 2024 Recap:
It is a red wave. Trump won the presidential election in a landslide. He won about 10 million votes more than Kamala, the first time he’s ever won the popular vote. As of this writing he has 277 electoral votes to Kamala’s 224, with more likely coming. 270 are needed to win.
Kamala had terrible turnout. Trump got about the same number of votes as 2020, but Kamala had 20 million less votes than 2020 (That’s 25% less!)
The Senate flipped to Republican control. They have at least 52 seats, with several close races still not called.
The House of Representatives is still up in the air. Republicans have a slight lead, but there are still ~50 more races to be called.
10 states voted on measures relating to abortion. 6 states voted for abortion rights. South Dakota, Nebraska, and Florida voted to keep their bans or restrictions on abortion.
The Supreme Court is likely to remain in conservative control in the next few cycles, as Trump will be able to replace 2 justices who are expected to retire soon.
TLDR: Trump and his allies won.
Complaints about Apple silicon Macs when they were first released:
Low base RAM (FIXED with M4 chips, 16gb is standard)
Egregious upgrade prices (Not fixed)
No way to use external GPUs (FIXED because the integrated GPUs are actually good enough)
Small SSDs (Not fixed but also not a very strong complaint, because you can plug in external SSDs)
Bad repairability (They have been getting better on publishing repair details and making parts available, but Macs are still physically hard to repair, even if you know how)
I’ve been thinking about this, the discord server really is where most of the action happens now. I don’t really know why.

people who live in echo chambers are very ignorant and annoying, considering all sides, unless a side really does make you feel uncomfortable, is the best thing to do.
Also this site in the grand scheme does not matter to your lives, like at all. Not saying this site is ass, it’s epic, but a small social media site with strangers is not a site you should be getting worked up over. I’ve been realising this the past few months, I haven’t been that active as i’ve been having fun irl and that’s totally fine.
like before i would actually care about numbers on this site now I don’t care - I’m literally loosing followers but it’s just a number
Don't censor yourself because you want to appeal to others; living in an echo chamber is pointless
I’m super productive until my brain comes up with a random idea. Well, at least I now know how to drive from Europe to Israel.
On my run today, I counted 14 houses with Trump signs and 16 houses with Harris signs. I looked up the results and my precinct, which is just neighborhoods like mine, voted 55% for Trump in both 2016 and 2020.
My friend, whose neighborhood is newer, has less expensive houses than mine and has more houses in total, said he counted 27 Trump-supporting houses and 12 Harris-supporting ones. His precinct, which has some rural area in it, voted 58% for Trump in 2016 and 57% in 2020.
My team won the homeschool state championships again this year - by a larger margin than last year
Just to clarify, I don’t live there. I live in NC (which was hit even worse). I don’t live in the damaged part of the state though.
I was in the hurricane disaster zone in Georgia. It was pretty rough. In some places it looks like tornadoes came through, in others you could barely tell there was a storm.
Apparently Trump was there at the same time, but I didn’t see him
I guess this wasn’t really a prediction because I didn’t say the winner. I think Trump will probably win.
This is my prediction for the US Presidential election. I think Trump has a lead on average, as the polls have always been skewed Democratic. A tied race in the polls means a Trump lead in reality.
However, I think the hurricane will have a massive impact on the races in NC and Georgia, which coincidentally are the key states to win. It hit the most strongly Republican parts of both states and I think it will cut turnout in those areas.
Based on my prediction, Trump has to win both of those states to win overall. Harris can win only a single one of those and still win overall.
Also, forget Pennsylvania, NC will be the key state.
If you forced me to guess, I’d say Georgia will go to Trump and NC will be a complete coin flip.

Helped set up a checkin system for my youth group today. It went pretty well.
My XC team has 7 of the top 15 most improved people in the state since last season, including the 2nd most improved person in North Carolina!
