Also, don’t expect it to be super stable, it’s version 0.1 right now. The #1 goal in this beta is to find bugs (there will be many).

Random cha-ching sounds play whenever I open wasteof and I can’t figure out where they come from (they’re not coming from the site itself)
10: I finally did some driving, I got 3.5 hours this week which puts me at almost 15 hours in total (out of 60 hrs needed)
2: Due to my trip I only got 10 miles of running. I’m at 223 miles in total.
5: Coding on this thing comes in fits and spurts, but my dad got the developer account, I just need to get around to releasing a beta version.
Happy New Year everyone!
I spend too much time on wasteof. But of all the places on the internet, this is the only one that is worth coming back to multiple times a day.
Now, I present my goals for 2024. The goals are all specific and quantifiable, so I can measure if I complete them. Here they are:
Run a 5k in under 20 mins by March, under 18 mins by August, and under 16 mins by November
Run over 1500 miles in total
Run a race every month - except January because I can’t find a single convenient race that month.
Finish school early - I’m on track to finish 1-2 weeks early, so I want to keep, if not improve, that lead
Bring the wasteof iOS app to feature parity with wasteof2 by July, and to parity with wasteof4 by November
Do some other big coding project
Read the book of John, taking it slowly through the book - Goal is 3-4 verses per day, John has 879 verses so it should take up the majority of the year
Become (at least) friends with my crush. “Becoming friends” is defined as getting her phone number. I won’t see her until August, though and I barely know her. And I’m the most awkward person ever. We’ll see.
Buy an iPhone 16 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 10 when they come out.
Get a driver’s license by August - I need 60 hours of driving practice in total, I have about 10 so far. I haven’t been trying though.
Get a job.
Repost this weekly with progress updates on what I’ve done to keep myself accountable.
2023 was the greatest year of my life. 2024 will be even better. Let’s get it.
This is on point. For the rest of us (most of us) who have been here the whole time, it’s been like the boiling frog (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boiling_frog). It changed very slowly and we haven’t noticed it. But for someone who completely left and then rejoined a year later, it’s a stark difference.
I miss the 2022 days on my @coolkat account… I used to spend hours scrolling through the posts. I leave for a year. I can’t even spend 5-10 minutes here sometimes.
i miss the golden days of wasteof. i can't provide an exact pinpoint of when that was, but it was probably during 2022. the thing is that i used to like almost every single post in my feed. that is most certainly not the case anymore. 80% of my feed is filled with bots, repost chains, spam, wars about random stuff, fighting, and more. it's honestly not pleasant at all trying to use wasteof with all that is happening on here. there are people that have made 60 posts in the past two days and have filled 32 pages of posts THIS YEAR alone. i make 60 posts in 2 months. i've been used wasteof for over 2 years on this account and i only have 52 pages of posts. this is not okay, and it needs to stop. along with this, think about it from the perspective of admins/mods. they have to deal with moderating everything i discussed earlier. they have to deal with the spam of accounts created just for the purpose of stat boosting, which against the rules. walk a mile in their shoes. think about them the next time before you start spamming, making repost chains, or really doing anything on here.
2: I ran 33 miles this week.
4: I haven’t been saying anything about this one because i haven’t been changing, I’m still ~2 weeks ahead on math
9: I’m gonna mark this as half done, I got an AW Series 9, and even if the Series 10 is absolutely crazy I can still buy it when it comes out.
10: I’ve really been slacking on this one. Need to get better.
I’m going on a trip (to Georgia and hopefully Congaree National Park) this week.

If people simply loved their neighbor as themself, the whole Israel/Palestine thing would never have happened.
