For the past week, I've been at a Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) for Scouts. I'd say it's probably one of my best experiences in Scouting thus far in my 5ish years I've been in Scouts BSA. A big thing that we talked about this week was Visions. A vision is what future success looks like. Goals are the steps to your vision. I have a lot of visions; I want to graduate high school with honors, I want to get my Eagle Scout rank this year, and more. Personally though, there's currently one big one: SparkShell. I want to inspire teenagers and kids to make websites and share them with ease; to get them into programming and such, because it's been a big part of my life. I hope to release SparkShell in the next 6 weeks during Buildspace N&W S5. Anyways, that's been what I've been doing for the past week. I hope everyone is doing well! :)
me when i'm walking my dogs but they decide to start barking and cause an entire neighborhood dog barking chain reaction
This. You may see me hate Apple but deep down I don't really care. Yeah, I don't like the customization aspect/look of Apple software but Apple has some really smart people building really cool stuff, whether I like it or not. I personally am just a Google Pixel fan because I've been using Android since I was a child (Nexus 7 tablet) and am used to the interface and look.
Maybe we should consider that possibly… this is just a wild guess… but there may be a slim sliver of a chance that iPhones are better than Androids in some ways. And Androids are better than iPhones in some ways. And Apple makes features that Androids don’t have. I’m really tired of the crazy arguments we always have, not just online but in person. Every argument about Apple versus Android always devolves into the Android guy screaming the top 5 things about Android and the worst 5 things about Apple, and the Apple guy doing the same but reversed.
The fact is… without competition, either platform would be garbage. They each need the other one (and the people saying the other one is better!) to get better themselves. So I’m going to stop saying one is better than the other. I like iOS better because it has better aesthetics (which is a personal opinion), I’m used to it, and I’m in the ecosystem. Some may like Android better. So be it.
Stop trying to get people to change their minds, though. They won’t.
it’s so funny looking at the new apple stuff from wwdc because as an android user i can tell you that 95% of this stuff has been here for years (the only good thing from wwdc is that iOS is getting RCS)
if someone's telling you that you can't, they're showing you their limits, not yours.
