Elon Musk says terms like “cisgender”and “cis” are now considered “slurs” on Twitter and will not be tolerated.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Elon never said that you can't say the word. He said that repeated harassment would be banned. The only thing he said about the word cis is that it was considered a slur. You can still say many slurs on Twitter (such as the N word)

Ok, so basically, the group term “female” should include females and trans females. However, if there needs to be a distinction, biological females, being the majority, should be called females and trans females should be trans females. My mum wants to be recognised as a female, same with loads of other females, and not have an extra label on her as she is 50% of the population. Hope you understand

but that doesn’t work… if you say that “females have […]” when it only applies to cis females, it won’t work because the term female can mean trans or cis female. there are many instances where a term like cis is necessary to prevent confusion. Also, trans people also have an extra label. Both cis and trans women have the label when it’s critical to preventing ambiguity and that’s the only way to ensure fairness. 😊

How could you not solve confusion by calling a female a “female” and a trans female a trans female? However, in other instances, she should be called a female, not a “vis female”

because you said that the group word female also describes trans females sometimes? unless I’m misunderstanding something (correct me if I’m wrong)

I didn’t say that, my mum did. However, if there needs to be a tag to distinguish a cis female and a trans female, then that tag should be given to the trans female, as that’s the minority group.
