community notes for @wasteofplus????

i would contribute once the firefox port is ready ngl

yeah, but it probably isn't worth developing a whole community notes system for a site as small (and well moderated) as wasteof 😅

the firefox port is going very well, i hope to post an update (maybe publishing it?) sometime early next week!

yeah i totally get that lol, regardless looking forward to giving the extension is go once you’ve gotten it published to firefox!

I get that a lot of people trust firefox and all, but one day I tried uploading one of my extensions to their store, and my account got deleted right after they approved it right in the middle of the night, (I’m not awake at that time), so I don’t really trust them anymore unfortunately

There’s most definitely issues with Firefox and its owner, Mozilla. No browser is entirely perfect, and that goes for Firefox. Sucks that happened to you. My main reason for sticking with the browser is it usually more private than most browsers, has container tabs and is one of the last browsers not to be built on Chromium, which is important to preventing a full monopoly on the web. But Mozilla needs to improve the browser and their services continually, including the Add-ons store, so people stop leaving Firefox behind.

i do think we need less chromium based browsers too, I’ve used brave for a while but you could clearly tell it was built off chromium

Definitely, the only big browser engines nowadays to my knowledge is Chromium, Gecko and WebKit and Chromium is pretty much what most browsers are based on now (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, etc.)

arc is based off chromium? then why is there not a windows version released yet :hmmm:
