i'm convinced windows laptops have negative battery capacity. in all my years of being exposed to tons of different windows laptops, i've yet to have a single one that holds a charge for more than a few hours. not a single one could last a day of use. i've used chromebooks that have lasted me weeks on a single charge. the only place i'm using windows is on a desktop so i don't have the thing die on me after having affinity designer open for more than 5 minutes.
Dell batteries aren’t great. HP seems to do better. And I’m sure Microsoft laptops are even better.
I tried video editing on a Dell, had to stop after 1.5 hours for dead battery lol
haven’t tried the surface laptops so i can’t say, but they are pretty small part of the overall market compared to dell, lenovo, hp, etc. i’ve got a hp laptop thats somewhat recent (it just misses out on windows 11 support) and it has horrible battery life, its not even like it has extremely powerful components that require more power. also yeah dell battery life is dreadful a lot of the time.
My dad has an HP and it has gone for a good 4-5 hours.
I use an HP Victus 15 and with the battery saver mode from OMEN, it can last like 7 hours per charge and that's with me running a lot throughout the day.
oh yeah i’m sure there are good windows laptops out there but it feels like its really hard to find something thats worth it and is just reliable, but glad you have found one!
also before someone else says it, I'm sure macbooks have great battery life, i haven't had a proper try of the new apple silicon ones but from what everyone says they have amazing battery life. also yes, I've found some linux distros can also help windows laptops because they use less resources than your average windows install.
when Apple actually cares about it they do really good stuff, which is what happened with apple silicon
yeah apple silicon is just a really good move on apples part in terms of performance and overall just functionality. because intel macs were pretty mid.
Yeah it was a rough like 15 years as an Apple fan, I think they’ve really corrected course massively in just like 4-5 years.
