Don’t make posts telling others what to do. People have different opinions, and governing their lives with “advice” won’t help anything most of the time.
don’t live in echo chambers. Respectfully engage in contrasting opinions (unless it makes you uncomfortable) even if you don’t like the person.
Do make posts telling others what to do. People don’t have different opinions and we should live in a totalitarian world!!!
Are you being serious?
mmmmmm, i think ppl shuld try to understand the other side to an argument tho. how can u make a point when u dont even understand wut ur arguing against
comfirmation bias can rlly fuck ppl up, its why a lot of stuff is so divided now
Simple solution: don’t argue? We do live in a society where understanding each other is key, but online, that’s different. Sure, wo.m is small enough to be hard to avoid someone else, but generally… interaction online is avoidable and arguments are unnecessary.
yea tru but i mean like ur opinions will get swayed easily, like ppl can easily be manipulated in this way, where ur only told stuff to confirm ur own biases, leading to them becoming more extreme
which is rlly prevalent on the internet
Yes, but that’s still better than all out flame wars sometimes.
yeh ig
Flame wars can be avoided by not responding, but you can still try to see the other side's ideas. It's called open-mindedness
What about dertermenter’s “respectfully engage” then?
It depends on:
The extremity of the topic
Whether your response is reasonable to the topic or not
also i do agree with u, but like a lotta people r still gonna argue so might as well try to keep their minds more open? idk
But arguments are fun!
They aren’t when the argument is about the living rights of trans people
Why would you be argueing about that
I don’t know, I didn’t choose
But you can choose! When the argument gets actually serious, side-track the other side with some personal attacks or some stupid comments (Example: “Youre not skibidi haha”)
ANSWER!!!
Be more patient
