We aren’t very far from 2025, which is halfway through the decade. While we have made admirable progress in many technological fields, many of the expectations we had over 14 years ago have yet to be met. Everybody else is making demands for jetpacks and flying cars, but I must ask . . . WHERE IS MY WORD PROCESSOR WITH BUILT-IN WEBSITE HOSTING FUNCTIONALITY?!
FACT: According to information read from the SSD amputated from the Mac mini, older versions of macOS had an application known as iWeb, which may have served this functionality. I don’t know when it happened, but it was probably removed because website hosting isn’t a feature valued by the average user.
This was quite the jumpscare image to see on my feed
but there’s also libreoffice being able to export straight to markdown for jekyll or picocms, or there’s of course, wordpress and the mammoth plugin
my knowledge of self-hosted web engines is worthless when i just set up wordpress anyway
