Something happened IRL and I wanted to take a break from the Internet to clam myself down but honestly this is something I have to share with you guys.
Ratio is no longer with us and that ratio committed suicide. Ratio was someone that made me feel like I am worth being in this world and she helped me follow my dreams and to even help accomplish them. Even when ratio was not in her best mood she was still there for me and others and the impact she had will not be forgotten. The legacy she had on this site is something many will not forget and we will all know that her legacy will still live on even after her passing. We will all remember the impact ratio has made to this site knowing that her and many others helped change this site to what it is today. Many will know her as ratio but I will remember her as my big sister that was there for me and was the most caring person a person can ask for. May she rest in peace knowing she is in a better place now. I will miss her a lot but will always love her from my heart.

Always remember lads that if you don’t like someone’s content on your feed than you can just unfollow them - try your best to get rid of the shitty posts so you can actually enjoy your feed.
This is why I don’t follow loads of users - I follow users if they have good content. Simple as.
i miss the golden days of wasteof. i can't provide an exact pinpoint of when that was, but it was probably during 2022. the thing is that i used to like almost every single post in my feed. that is most certainly not the case anymore. 80% of my feed is filled with bots, repost chains, spam, wars about random stuff, fighting, and more. it's honestly not pleasant at all trying to use wasteof with all that is happening on here. there are people that have made 60 posts in the past two days and have filled 32 pages of posts THIS YEAR alone. i make 60 posts in 2 months. i've been used wasteof for over 2 years on this account and i only have 52 pages of posts. this is not okay, and it needs to stop. along with this, think about it from the perspective of admins/mods. they have to deal with moderating everything i discussed earlier. they have to deal with the spam of accounts created just for the purpose of stat boosting, which against the rules. walk a mile in their shoes. think about them the next time before you start spamming, making repost chains, or really doing anything on here.

my guy, that was a repost since i thought it deserved to be a post (so I could see if it got loves and if people agreed with me) i’m actually using reposts to their intended purpose, and i’m doing it again here for the same reason.
also 3 posts ain’t a repost chain lmao, that takes no time at all to scroll over, isn’t annoying, and actually has constructive discussion.

Ah, the irony of people saying repost chains are annoying to scroll past and then reposting others’ posts (which themselves are long and reposts of other long posts) to disagree with them instead of commenting.

hi can people stop complaining about repost chains please. it really bugs me, since it’s meta about people just having fun. there is, as far as i’m aware, no strain on the servers from doing it (i would imagine they’re simply a reference to the post, which is then dereferenced n times for the api representation). on the website, you have to explicitly click to reveal sub-posts, meaning it’s your fault if it gets large, and you can reload if it screws up your layout. as for wasteof for android, you can just Not Look At The Post. that’s an option. sure, it’s a little bit annoying to scroll past, but you are using a third party client (even if it’s labelled official), that isn’t developed by jeffalo. it’s also probably on micah’s to-do list. additionally, like tumblr, reposting is the only way to add a comment to something while making show as an original post. jeffalo could do like tumblr did and change the post to show on the same layer as the original post, meaning it doesn’t fuck up the layout the further in the post gets. then, there could just be a view more button like the current implementation.
