my mom signed me up for what she thought was a school breakfast event but in reality was a fellowship of christian athletes meeting. as i am not christian, i ended up looking stupid for 30 minutes while everyone else was praying and doing bible study. it was even worse cause i’m indian and everyone else there was white so i kept getting weird looks cause no one expects an indian guy to be christian. in my mom’s defense the message that they sent us was not clear at all about what the meeting was.

someone was listening to music in the middle of class then their earbuds disconnected and everyone heard california girls on full blast

i forgot to put my phone to sleep today and some random guy from maryland called me and it went off in the middle of math class

some girls behind me in german class kept saying gyatt in every sentence and you would not believe how much i wanted to tell them to shut the f*ck up

my district decided to throw half of us into a new school and now all my friends are in different classes

keep your head up high. life will be hard, and there will be a lot of disappointment. just remind yourself that it's pain that helps us grow and learn from mistakes, and to always remind yourself that there are upsides to a situation, and not to focus too hard on the negatives.
