I've also noticed an increased volume of cold callers targeting me lately. While I haven't shared my phone number anywhere, I got hit with six unknown callers on Thursday. One of those callers went so far as to attempt contact over FaceTime. One of those callers also left a voicemail.
On the other hand, I haven't gotten any junk texts since September of last year.

You do realize people can call androids just as easily as iPhones…
Pixel & Android phones have call screening (if I don't know the person, Google Assistant will screen the call automatically and do what it needs to) and quite good spam protection for SMS and RCS.
