Introducing wasteof for Android!
wasteof for Android is the official way to use wasteof.money on your phone! Features are being added semi-regularly, so if you’d like to give it a try then download it below. It's available on Google Play now!

@ee apparently the PR to require a token to access projects has been reverted (temporarily) to fix uploading projects. More time to archive projects I suppose!
The Scratch Archive is now available with this easy-to-use public interface (in early beta). I’m aware of the issues with search, and I'm working to fix them right now. However, if you’re interested in checking out some of the oldest projects on Scratch, check it out!
I’ve outlined my plan for archiving as many Scratch projects as possible. I’ve uploaded the code and instructions to run it here: https://github.com/micahlt/sbarchive
If you plan on helping, go ahead and comment which range of project IDs you’re going to download.
Now that I have the news (thanks @ee) of this PR that will make unshared Scratch projects inaccessible, I’m archiving as many projects as I can, starting from ID 1. If you want to aid in this effort, I’ll be providing some code soon.
I don’t know about you guys, but I know that Scratch has played a massive role in my life and my path to becoming a web developer. It even influenced my choice of colleges and degrees. Heck, I even became a Christian as the result of a Scratch project that someone shared. As flawed as Scratch is, it’s still an amazing platform and I’d highly recommend donating in honor of the fifteenth anniversary to support the next generation of social programmers
And with that, I'm officially a high school graduate! College, here I come
I’m glad to announce that Modchat is now in a stable state! We’ve got a great moderation panel, secure login and signup, and much more, so if you’re interested in a great place to hang out and live chat, check it out here: modchat.micahlindley.com
I graduate this Friday… life has gone by so fast, and I'm equal parts sad and thrilled.
Got some neat swag from Oracle’s Pi Day Developer Relations Conference!
Attempting to add notifications to wasteof.mobile - dang, Firebase Cloud Messaging is difficult to work with. I’m going to have to have a central server that keeps track of all the app’s users and their unique messaging ID’s. Which means privacy policies have to be written. Snap.
Published a guide on hacking captive portals - you know those really annoying “open” networks that actually require a password? Well, if you’re around them a lot you should check this out: https://micahlindley.com/freethecaptive/
What’s a feature you want to see in wasteof.mobile? I’m to the point that all that’s left to implement is commenting and reposting, but I’m wondering if there are any things y’all want in a wasteof mobile app.
Codestories is a new social platform I’ve been planning for about two months, and I’m finally building it! The idea is something sort of like Instacode (instaco.de) which was essentially an Instagram for code. However, Codestories will be less socially focused and more about sharing what you’re actually working on, in the form of fun-themed code snippets! Just finished with the landing page, so if you’re interested in being in the first round of alpha testers when the private alpha launches, feel free to join the waitlist!
Edit: Also forgot to mention: it’s for devs, so only GitHub authentication will be allowed to reduce spam.
Alpha signup can be found here: https://codestories.micahlindley.com/waitlist
